Story Reactor — Privacy Policy

Story Reactor ("the Extension," "we," "our") is a browser extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension handles, how it is stored, and what it does — and does not — do with it.

1. Information the Extension Uses

To function, Story Reactor stores the following data locally in your browser, using your browser's built-in storage:

• Usernames you enter — the Instagram usernames you choose to track.
• Emoji/reaction preferences — the emojis or text reactions you select or type in.
• Activity log — a local record of which accounts the Extension interacted with and when, shown to you in the extension popup.
• Extension settings — on/off state, timing preferences, and similar configuration values.

2. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect or store your Instagram username, password, or login session.
• We do not read, store, or transmit your private messages.
• We do not collect browsing history outside of what's needed for the extension to operate on Instagram pages.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising SDKs.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

All data listed in Section 1 is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage APIs (for example, chrome.storage.local). It is not uploaded to any external server operated by us or any third party. If you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser's extension data, this information is deleted.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party. The Extension does not communicate with any server we operate.

6. Interaction with Instagram

The Extension interacts directly with Instagram's website in your browser to perform the actions you configure. This is a direct interaction between your browser and Instagram — governed by Instagram's own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.

7. Your Choices

• You can view, edit, or delete tracked usernames and preferences at any time from the extension popup.
• You can clear all locally stored data by removing the Extension from your browser.
• You can pause or stop automation at any time via the extension controls.

8. Children's Privacy

Story Reactor is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the minimum age required to hold an Instagram account.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
